Romanian unicorn UiPath acquires Estonian StepShot

Romanian unicorn UiPath, the leading RPA software company acquired StepShot, an Estonian company that offers innovative tool for RPA implementation, the UiPath announced in their press release. The acquisition was announced during FORWARD III, the first-ever global event for the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) community that was held in Las Vegas, U.S. while the sum of the acquisition remains undisclosed. 

With the product that StepShot is developing, UiPath will introduce the UiPath Explorer product family – a platform that will make it easy to identify, document, analyze and prioritize processes, with a unique ability to understand both front-line and back-end operations, through scientific and visual analysis.

“Together with the StepShot acquisition and our organic work in Process Understanding, we can now help our customers have a complete view of their processes, including everything from front-end granular user actions to back-end, higher level transactional steps, ” says PD Singh, Vice President of AI at UiPath. 

According to StepShot team, this exciting cooperation will help the two companies to develop an industry leading solution for Process Discovery. 

“The new product, UiPath Explorer Expert, will be the next generation of the existing StepShot tool and will join the UiPath Explorer product family. It will help you quickly document processes for RPA as well as build workflow diagrams and automation prototypes. As a StepShot customer or lifetime user, you’ll get access to the Community Edition and we’ll initiate the transition period later this month,” wrote StepShot team on their official Facebook page announcing the acquisition.

Sasha Reminnyi, CEO and Co-Founder of StepShot, for news site Medium said that he is extremely proud for the exit made to UiPath.
