Yet another round of acquisition/investments announced by three Balkan startups. Romanian Voo got acquired by American Townsquared, and two Slovenian startups, Mediately and Parsec, announce new round of investments of 500.000 EUR to 2 million EUR respectively.
As announced by its CEO, Christian Turlica, Romanian startup Voo makes exit to the U.S. based Townsquared for undisclosed amount.
In his LinkedIn post Turlica stated the following:
„We are very excited to be joining forces with Townsquared and pursuing our mission alongside them. As part of this transition we will be winding down our consumer services on April 28th, 2017. With Townsquared, we’ll build services that will aid local businesses better focus on what they love: serving you. More on that to come“. He will now assume the position of Director of Product.
In the official press release, made by Townsquared, the team announced that Voo will be invaluable in accelerating the pace of innovation at the company.
“This will accelerate Townsquared’s mission to be the critical community for all small business owners across the nation by marrying the power of instant communication with a community of main street businesses”, Ann Miura-Ko, member of the Townsquered Board noted.
Voo was founded two years ago initially as messenger. Later it became a great platform for people to share plans inside their existing chat application. Reportedly, this application is used in over 110 countries. To date this startup was awarded with several notable titles including Top 10 iMessage Apps of 2016 by Venture beat.
As for Townsquared, this company was founded in 2013 as the only online community and mobile app specifically designed to help neighborhood businesses be ore successful by connecting them to other business and local resources.
Besides for this Romanian startup, yesterday was a very successful day for two Slovenian startups as well.
Slovenian startup Mediately rose 500.000 EUR from the Bulgarian investment fund LaunchHub VC. This is their final round of investment and reportedly will be used to strengthen their team in Serbia but as well to promote their company in the other countries in the region.
Mediately was founded in 2011 in Ljubljana as mobile application focused on providing localized and relevant information to doctors and healthcare professionals.
On the other hand, Slovenian startup Parsec got two million EUR investment from the 3TS Capital Partners. Parsec is an internationally recognized provider of online platforms for the integration and interconection of medical solutions.
Janez Bensa , CEO of Parsec said that the investment will further promote the international presence of Parsec in target markets and will strengthen the activities of product development and will develop organizational functions, 24ur reported.
Founded in 1999, Prasec provides professional IT solutions in Slovenian and in the region.
