The mission of the conference is through women as speakers and organizers to encourage, educate and support women in science. The conference was first held in 2015 by Stanford’s Institute of Computer and Mathematical Engineering. Last year, the conference was held in 80 locations in 30 countries, and in 2018, more than 100 local conferences are expected. The goals of the WiDS Zagreb conference are: to bring together leading scientists and companies in Croatia dealing with this topic, to connect people of similar interests, to enable mutual knowledge sharing, to show the interdisciplinarity of data science on concrete examples from the business world and everyday life. The program will include technical lectures, panel discussion on Data Science in education and several networking breaks for mutual acquaintance. We hope that this conference will be an introduction to emerging scientists and scientists and help them develop their careers. We invite all interested to join us in this exciting and educational event. Although at this conference women lead the main word, we hope that a lot of men’s support will come from the audience.
