Objectives of the Forum ICT Society: to foster the strengthening of the ICT sector in Osijek and Croatia, to open a dialogue on the sociological relationship between information and communication technologies and their impact on the society of other modernities, including the reflection of the positive and negative impacts of ICT on society in the context of technological determinism of global information society 21st century.

From old challenges to new opportunities The Forum itself is conceived as the center of communication of the real sector, politics and education, with the aim of developing the ICT profession, the local community as well as the wider social arenas. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the positive and negative aspects of technology, as well as practical problems affecting the profession and the wider community through the discussion of representatives of various sectors in the technology industry. That is why the program is divided into four panels, covering current technological and social topics:

– Panel # 1: Digital Economy, Digital Marketing and Decentralization

– Panel # 2: Innovation as a motor of the development of organizations and local society

– Panel # 3: Regional and International Business – Opportunities and Challenges of Local Access

– Panel # 4: Withdrawal of funds from EU funds for the ICT sector Panelists will point to opportunities and weaknesses, to highlight problems and challenges with which the information society in Osijek (but also wider, regionally and nationally) faces. First of all, can we even speak about an information society as such or just about an industrial society in the information age. We will talk about our legislative and policy frameworks and what changes are needed to make Croatia a visible place on the European and world ICT scene.
