10 Romanian startups for children are competing for a prize of 100,000 euros

Impact Hub Bucharest in partnership with Impact Hub Basel and Fondation Botnar announces the final of Innovators for Children, a competition that will be organized on Tuesday, September 15, and broadcast live on the organization’s Facebook page.
Out of 130 entries, 10 teams remained in the race for 100,000 euros , private financing, non-reimbursable.

It is about the Help Autism Association – AutismOn, Brio, EMOFACE, JSKids, KIDoc, Parentool, Peditel, REThink, Tactile Images, Univrse Education.

At the end of the competition, the jury of education and business specialists will nominate between 3 and 5 startups that will benefit from project implementation support, access to the Impact Hub community and an exploration visit hosted by program partners in Basel, Switzerland. Entrepreneurs will thus have the opportunity to meet representatives of organizations, institutions and businesses that contribute to improving the lives of children.

I wrote extensively about Tactile Images in this article – you can read here the story written by Oana Cosman.
The startups that reached the Innovators for Children final had as mentors Oana Craioveanu, Co-founder and CEO of Impact Hub Bucharest, Ionuț Pătrăhău, Co-founder of SeedBlink, Diana Certain, Executive Director of Concordia Humanitarian Organization, Adina Cretu, Project Manager Startarium, Sabina Antoci, Senior Program Manager Vodafone Romania Foundation and Adelina Dondorici, Co-founder of Parenting Ads.

I wrote about Univrse in this article. Find out their story here.
“We are already at the second edition of Innovators for Children, one with impressive results: for 3 months, we worked side by side, participants and mentors, to turn 10 ideas into 10 successful programs for children and adolescents. In addition, we are talking about the largest financing made available to startups this year, in the midst of a pandemic – 100 thousand euros, non-reimbursable funds that will ensure the implementation of the winning projects. Impact Hub Bucharest remains one of the largest business incubators in the country: This year alone, approximately 140 startups enjoyed access to infrastructure, consulting and financing to get from the idea phase to the product. “, Said Oana Craioveanu, Co-founder and CEO of Impact Hub Bucharest.

“The selected startups are at the intersection between performance and social impact. We are not reading the future to know for sure what will be the main source of added value, but we are sure that each of the participants will follow one or the other of the routes. ” said Ionuț Pătrăhău, Co-founder of Seedblink.
