Disrupt Berlin 2019:  Startuppers only one week left to apply for the TC Top Picks

As the clock ticks and the days go by the opportunities for the early stage startups at the leading startup gathering in Europe – Disrupt Berlin 2019 – are slowly closing.

Even though the application for the most exiting competition Startup Battlefield is already closed, all interested startups that miss the chance to apply and secure their place at the competition, still have a great opportunity to promote themselves in front of the top notch speakers, investors and prominent media.

As every year since 2011, this year as well, the TechCrunch editors will once again choose 50 startups to take part at the TC Top Picks program thus getting an opportunity to exhibit in Startup alley for free.

How to apply?

The application is simple and more importantly for free. All interested startuppers should fill in the application no later than October 18 by 12:00 p.m. There is only one criteria – the startups must fall within one of the following categories: AI/Machine Learning, Biotech/Healthtech, Blockchain, Fintech, Mobility, Privacy/Security, Retail/E-commerce, Robotics/IoT/Hardware, CRM/Enterprise and Education.

The competition is a pre-conference event when 5 early stage startups are chosen in every of the above mentioned categories. Once a startup is selected and named a TC Top pick, it will get a change to exhibit for free at the Startup Alley – the expo floor where hundreds of startup will showcase their talent and technology. Being on a display, these selected startups will get the change to promote themselves in front of the best of the best investors in the world.

Beside the opportunity to exhibit and self – promote, all the selected startups will also be interviewed by the TechCrunch team and will get an additional opportunity to showcase their company and their product/service. Once the interviews filmed, the videos will be promoted and share on social media enabling the selected startups a great media coverage and promotion.

For all those disappointed that missed the deadline for the Startup Battlefield, the TechCrunch team is preparing yet another surprise – the Wild Card. Out of all startups exhibiting in Startup Alley, the editors will choose one to compete in the Battlefield. Just for instance, last year, at Disrupt Berlin 2018, the editors chose Legacy, a startup that won the Startup Battlefield prize worth $50.000.
