Pioneers of Bitcoin Business in Croatia get even more ambitious
Croatian Stemi, Pricaj mi, and Kliklop split a €22.500 Award
Stemi, Pricaj mi, and Kliklop are the three Croatian startups to which UniCredit Foundation awarded a total of €22.500. Earlier this week, they were announced as finalists of the new generation of Impact Hub Zagreb. Each of them received €7.500 in seed capital at the Demo Day finalizing the 3-month long incubation program of the hub. 40 startup teams had initially applied for this second competition on social entrepreneurship, 11 of which have successfully entered the incubation program.
Foundcenter Belgrade to Invest up to €1 Million in SEE Startups
Foundcenter Belgrade announces their first pitch challenge, CATCH 2016, taking place on September 27, 28, and 29 in Belgrade. This is an investor-organized pitch targeting startups from Southeast Europe that will compete for an investment worth up to €1 million. Attractive ideas with disruptive innovation in the market segments of IT, health, natural resources and agriculture, mobility, business products and services, art and design will be in the main focus of this challenge.
Uber Has Arrived in Dubrovnik and Split
The popular yet controversial taxi service Uber, which has been taking the world by storm has arrived in Dubrovnik and Split. Contributing to the local tourism, Uber will be available in Dubrovnik during peak season from June to October. After Zagreb, where the service is successfully running for six months now, Split will be the second city in Croatia where Uber will be available all year round.
SparkME 2016 Takes dryTools to TechCrunch Disrupt
Novi-Sad based startup is the winner of the startup competition organized by the SparkME 2016 Conference that took place on May 28-29 in Budva, Montenegro. This annual startup competition is part of the SparkME tradition to bring together successful startups from all over Europe and challenge the power of their ideas. As a winner of the competition, the dryTools team will be able to exhibit their startup in the Startup Alley at TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2016, on September 12-14.
Serbian Startup Car:Go is Taking Over the Balkans
Car:Go is a ridesharing mobile app based in Belgrade. What is exciting about it is that it not only provides customers with quick access to a car for their next ride, but it also allows them to make an entirely cash-free mobile payment for rides that are 30-50% lower than regular taxi service. Available ride options at Car:Go range between mini, economy, and van class, each of which responds to a different necessity of the customer.
