Croatian Stemi, Pricaj mi, and Kliklop Split a €22.500 Award

Stemi, Pricaj mi, and Kliklop are the three Croatian startups to which UniCredit Foundation awarded a total of €22.500. Earlier this week, they were announced as finalists of the new generation of Impact Hub Zagreb. Each of them received €7.500 in seed capital at the Demo Day finalizing the 3-month long incubation program of the hub. An additional amount of €6.300 in total will also be awarded to the winning teams as part of the Your Choice, Your Project Award (YCYP) initiative of Zagrebačke banke.

According to Ana Raguz from Impact Hub Zagreb, 40 startup teams had initially applied for this second competition on social entrepreneurship, 11 of which have successfully entered the incubation program, as reported by Tportal.hr. Selected teams had been on a mission to prove their dedication, social impact, and sustainable business model throughout the duration of the program. The majority of the participants worked on ideas tackling children, people with disabilities, and green sustainability.

Two of the winning projects are dedicated to children; Kliklop is a project providing catering for kids, and Pricaj mi develops interactive toys that connect children and parents. Stemi, on the other hand, is an educational platform combining science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and is offering specific workshops in the field.

The entire program has been financed by Unicredit Foundation, which provided the main cash award of €22.500 for the winners. The foundation is active in 17 countries worldwide where Unicredit Group is present, including Croatia as well. Their main activities are focused on supporting entrepreneurship among young people. Since its establishment in 2003, UniCredit Foundation invested more than €100 million in 400 projects supporting entrepreneurship, and in 2015 alone it awarded 140 grants amounting to €2.3 million, as stated by Alice Arico from Unicredit Foundation for Tportal.hr.
